Hi I'm Jacob

I'm an athlete, a musician, and I'm a mormon

About Me

I am a college student in the business school. I love working with people and no matter what I study, I know that is what I will end up doing. I love to have experiences, use time effectively, and stay active. I do this through several outlets. One outlet to gain experience and have fun is by writing and performing music in a band with friends. We do that on the street and in venues, and love to watch people sing along, dance, or just smile because we have brightened their day. One way that I stay active is through sports. I love to run, play soccer, play ultimate frisbee, and participate in many other sports. More than anything else I love the feeling of being in control of my own life, and I know that as I make decisions and control what I do, it gives me more control over the various factors that influence me daily.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know it is true. Through an earnest desire, study, and sincere prayer, we all have access to God and His communication. More than anything else, though, I am a Mormon because of the influence it has on me and those around me. We are taught to be like Christ. We are taught to better ourselves and to help those around us. Christ really does lead this church. The members within this church might make mistakes and none of us are perfect, but Christ is, and I know this is His church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through service. Everyone faces struggles and difficulties on a daily basis. Often we can overcome those easily enough, but sometimes we need a little extra help. We can receive that through Christ, and we can receive that from those around us as well. I try to help others by talking with them, smiling, joking with them, and by being someone they can rely on. We all need a friend, and I know that I can help others as I strive to be their friend.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Jacob
Simple answer: pray about it. Of course we need to do our homework first. As we read the Book of Mormon with questions in mind, as we seek to draw closer to the Savior, and as we pray to really know that it is true, we can receive answers in a way that is unique to us. As we listen and pay attention to our feelings, God will answer. Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Jacob
From reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures we grow closer with God. I can feel his approval of my decisions, and I receive answers to life's questions in the form of thoughts and feelings. Show more Show less
