Hi I'm Jarom

I am a musician, I'm a painter, I'm a normal kid. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just graduated, class of 2013, and I will be starting college in two years when I return from my mission to Japan. I have played the piano since I was five years old, and I also really love to paint, I hope to pursue a major in the arts. I am the oldest child in my family, I enjoy being around my little brother and sisters. My 5 best friends and I love to go to dances and take girls on dates, country swing dancing on Wednesday nights is always a blast.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I am still very young, I know for myself that God is real. I have felt the comfort that the Holy Ghost brings to me. I also know that because of Jesus Christ's sacrifice for me I can be forgiven of my sins and continually strive to become the man that my Father in Heaven wants me to be. I know that when Joseph Smith, the founder of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, went into the woods by his home to pray and learn which church he should join, that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ did in reality appear to him, and there they told him that the true church was not on the earth, but needed to be Restored. Restored to the way that it was when Christ was on the earth, complete with Apostles and Prophets and the Priesthood, which is the power of God given to us here on earth. I know that this is the True Church, for I too have prayed to find out if it is, and though Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ didn't appear to me in person, I felt the Holy Ghost and I knew that it was true, and that was enough. As I continue attending church and living God's commandments, I feel of his love, and I feel the love of others around me. I know that this is where God wants me to be.

How I live my faith

I have been a leader for the youth in my classes at church for a few years, which is really fun because all of the kids are my best friends. We plan camp-outs and service activities, and sometimes we just get together to play some ball. I am also the piano player when we sing hymns in church. I will soon be leaving to serve as a missionary to Japan where I will be inviting people to come unto Christ.

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is the power that the original apostles, Peter, James, John, and others, used to build up the church in their day, and they also used it to heal the sick and to bless the lives of others. The priesthood is given to all male members of the Church who live their lives in a clean and worthy way. My Dad has the priesthood and all the years growing up I was very grateful that if I was sick or confused or worried, he would give me a blessing of health or comfort. Now that I am 18 and preparing to go on a mission, I am old enough to receive the priesthood as well. Shortly after my birthday my Mom became very sick. My Dad and I gave her a blessing that she would get better. I was nervous because I had never given a blessing before, but I prayed to God for courage. Another night shortly after that, my little sister got very hurt while jumping on the trampoline. My Dad was not home to help me, but once again God blessed me with the courage and I gave my little sister a blessing, and she was healed. Show more Show less
