Hi I'm Bob

I grew up in Silicon Valley. I practiced corporate law for 23 years, and now work as a recruiter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors, and anything athletic! I enjoyed all sports growing up, and am still an avid sports fan, but now particularly enjoy cycling and running and participating in running races and triathlons. I have been married to my talented wife for 27 years and have 4 wonderful kids who are now young adults and are off getting their own starts in life. I love being a father and a husband and am grateful for the meaning that family relationships give to my life. I enjoy meeting new people and spending time with friends. I am grateful each day for the beauties of this world and for the energy and good health that allow me to interact with and serve those around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the joy and happiness that being a member of this church has brought into my life and also into the life of my family. I feel the love of God in my life each day as I try to follow his teachings and serve those around me. Even through the trials and challenges that we all face in life, I know that God loves me and has a plan for me. I feel his spirit in my life, which guides me in the decisions I make each day and helps me to feel peace even amidst trials and hard times. I believe that God has the same love for each person on this earth, and stands ready to comfort and bless all those who turn to him in humility. I believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored in its fulness in modern times by Jesus Christ himself as was promised by New Testament prophets. He did this by establishing the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, led by Jesus Christ through a modern prophet and twelve apostles, which has all the power and authority of the early Christian Church. This means that the saving ordinances of the gospel are once again available to all on the earth to draw them closer to God and to Jesus Christ and allow us to partake of the joy that can come from following the path of service and discipleship that Jesus has prescribed for us. He loves us all unconditionally, and wants each person to come to him, learn of him, and be strengthened by his love and by following the plan that he has for us.

How I live my faith

I enjoy pitching in and helping out in our church community, and find that when I do so, I always benefit way out of proportion to the investment of time and effort that is required by my service! In the past I have served as a youth advisor, have taught a weekday early morning religion class for high school-aged youth, have assisted the full-time missionaries in their work, and have served in the leadership of our local congregation. As a young man, I also had the opportunity to serve as a full-time missionary for the church, during which time I saw first-hand the joy and happiness that the gospel of Jesus Christ can bring into the lives of those who accept it. Having a responsibility to serve helps me to keep my faith fresh and allows me opportunities to help others to strengthen their faith as well.
