Hi I'm Rebekah

I'm southern girl from the North Georgia mountains. I'm a sort-of newlywed, the youngest of four girls, and a Mormon.

About Me

I'm not your typical Mormon. As I mentioned, I'm a southerner in every sense of the word. I'm not from Utah or Idaho. I don't think I even have any Mormon Pioneer heritage. I speak with an accent, walk barefooted, and eat corn bread. I feel like jello as a dessert is sacrilegious. The only connection I have to the west is though my father, who hails from Las Vegas, where his family was introduced to the church. However, he moved to Georgia, fell in love with my southern belle of a mother, and the rest his history. Thankfully, you don't have to live out west to be a member of this faith. You don't even have to live in the U.S.A. That's one of the things that I love so much about the church. It brings people together from all different backgrounds. It can be hard though. As a small town girl, who moved to the city where her husband could find work, I sometimes feel like I stick out like a sore thumb. But... I know through the power of prayer and personal revelation that this is the place my Heavenly Father wants me to be. I find peace in knowing that my Father has a plan for me, especially in the scary times that force me out of my shell. I'm blessed to be a member of this church. I'm blessed to be able to venture out of my shell from time to time into the sometimes culture shock of "city/suburban life" with my loving husband by my side. I love this church and the opportunities it gives me to grow and progress in this life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it makes me happy. It really is as simple as that. I live my faith and through living it I find true, lasting joy and peace.

How I live my faith

I am currently a teacher for 14 and 15 year old girls and I absolutely love every minute of it. I get to prepare a lesson all week and teach it to them on Sunday, and I feel like it is just as much a learning experience for me as it is for them.
