Hi I'm Hailee H.

I'm a high school student in Utah. I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I've lived in Utah all of my life, and I have never been out of the country (sad, right?) I love reading and writing, which is why I want to be an author someday. Right now, I'm preparing for being a sophomore in high school. I'm planning on going to college and eventually going on a mission. My favorite scripture is found in Romans I:16 - "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth."

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because living the gospel brings me true happiness. I believe that we lived with our Heavenly Father and Jesuse Christ once. The Lord sent us here to be tested and prove our loyalty to Him. If we have lived righteous lives, we will be able to return to His presence. This is possible because of the Atonement. Christ took all of our sins upon Him so that we can repent of them when they happen. The thought of having no guilt for something I've once done because of the gift of repentance brings so much peace into my life. The counsel our prophet and apostles give us is directly from God and is received through inspiration and revelation. I believe that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and he translated the golden plates into the Book of Mormon. Christ's gospel is a force for good and a beacon of light in these dark times. The scriptures give us clear direction through parables and accounts of past believers. The doctrine of the scriptures is written in double-reference to the people in biblical times, and to the generations of our day. I have benefitted greatly from seminary and personal scripture study. All of these principles give me a sure direction of where I want to be in life.

How I live my faith

Right now, I'm the Mia Maids president in the Young Women's at my ward. What living my faith means to me is practicing what the scriptures preach. For Latter Day Saints, it's not enough to learn the doctrines and teachings of the church; we have to take action and live the doctrines and teachings of the church. This is one big example of how we try to become more like Jesus Christ.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Hailee H.
-Ask for reassurance that He is there and listening through prayer -Keep the commandments and read the scriptures -Read and listen to other testimonies. Most people get their testimony growing from someone else's testimony. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Hailee H.
Yes. We believe in the teachings and doctrines of Jesus Christ. The common misconception about our christianity has to do with the fact that we do not believe in the trinity. We believe that Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are three separate beings. Show more Show less
