Hi I'm Jordan Tesimale

I am half Samoan, half Caucasian. I grew up on the west and east coast, served a mission in Ecuador, and went to school in Hawaii

About Me

I'm currently going to college in Hawaii. And on that note, I love the ocean. I like to play guitar, discover new music, surf, underwater cave dive, kayak, mountain bike, record/edit movies, digital art design and find fun things to do around the island. I'm always down for an adventure.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was born into this church, like any person investigating the church I had to find out for myself whether the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints taught the fullness of the Gospel. I remember pondering a lot about it and thinking, "I need an answer from the Lord." I had prayed a few times before to know the truth, but didn't feel that I received an answer. Then one night after reading the Book of Mormon, I got on my knees and opened my heart to the Lord. I prayed and asked if it was true, and the feeling I felt was unmistakably an answer from the Lord. I know that this is the true Church of Christ with all of His Gospel truths. And I know that this is the only church that has the same power and priesthood that John the Baptist, the Apostles and Christ himself had. And that only with such power could one be baptized and enter into the Kingdom of God. Basically, I'm a Mormon because I know it's true and I know that living this gospel is what brings, and will forever bring happiness to my life.

How I live my faith

I love teaching and I learned that about me while serving a 2 year mission in Ecuador. In my current ward I have been assigned to teach the brethren the gospel and their priesthood responsibilities, build unity among them, promote service opportunities and support them in any way possible. I love my calling (aka assignment) and I love the relationships I have been able to build with those in my ward. I also have an assignment to visit certain people in their home to teach them and be of service to them in any way possible. In both of these calling, I too am edified by the knowledge of those I teach and filled with the spirit that comes when you discuss the Lord's gospel.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Jordan Tesimale
We don't worship Joseph Smith. We believe he was a Prophet, like Moses was a prophet. We only worship God our Loving Heavenly Father and His son Jesus Christ who is our Savior. Only through Christ, his Gospel and his atoning sacrifice can we be saved. And it is through the prophets (past and living) that He teaches us those truths, and many other things to help us in world filled with temptations, confusion and faltering morality.
