Hi I'm Emily

I am a student and BYU, but I'm taking a break for 18 months to serve a full-time mission in Bolivia! I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a people person, I really like to meet new people. I am a student at BYU. I absolutely love BYU. It is such a great environment and the teachers there are wonderful. I love school because I love to learn. I am interested in math and science and hope to be a Physician Assistant one day. I have one of the best families in the whole world. I have three brothers and two amazing parents. My mom is one of my best friends. My parents have taught me how important it is to work hard and how important it is to be kind. I have had the wonderful opportunity to travel to 12 different countries and more than 30 states with my family. The world is a beautiful place, and I hope that I get the chance to visit more places throughout my life. I served a mission in Bolivia and left half my heart there.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My parents and grandparents have been members of the church for their whole lives. Because of their examples, I developed a desire to know the Savior. Through diligent study and application of gospel principles I have gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My testimony continues to grow as I strive to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Gaining, and keeping a testimony of the church is not a passive thing, I have to work on my testimony daily. The daily effort is most definitely worth it! The hope the gospel brings makes me so happy. :) I know that Jesus Christ knows me, Emily Hansen, personally. I know that He loves me. He knows all of my many faults and weaknesses and still loves me. He wants me to be happy. He loves every single person all this earth regardless of their circumstances, and wants each of them to be happy. I know that we will not stop existing after we die. Because the Savior died for each of us, we ALL get to live again. I love my family very much, and am so thankful that I am sealed to them for eternity. I love the temple. Many of my prayers have been answered while I was at the temple. The blessings that come from receiving ordinances in the temple are priceless. I encourage everyone to go to the temple as often as they can! It is truly the house of God!

How I live my faith

I pray and read my scriptures daily. I love the Book of Mormon. It truly testifies of Christ. I also love general conference talks, I listen to them almost everyday as I get ready for the day. I look for opportunities to serve those around me daily. I believe that serving others is one of the best ways to draw closer to the Savior. What better way to learn of someone than by doing what He would be doing if He were here? I decided to take a break from school at BYU to serve a full-time mission for the church. I was called to serve in Bolivia. I am excited to share the love of the Savior with the people of Bolivia.
