Hi I'm Michael

I'm a avid computer programmer and anime enthusiast. Coincidentally, I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently serving as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I've been called to serve in Seoul Korea, speaking Korean. Before that I was computer programmer from Springwood, New South Wales, Australia. I've loved computer programming since I was a child playing around with QBasic. I graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney with a B Information Technology. After that I worked on a HTML 5 accounting application for the strata management industry in Australia. My hobbies include learning more and more about computer science and learning new programming languages in my spare time. I also like to watch Japanese anime and listen to Japanese pop music.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my grandparents were converted to the church when my parents were children. Because of that, I've had the privilege of being raised in the church. Of course the reason I still belong to the church isn't because I was raised in it. When I was a teenager the prophet Gordon B. Hinkley gave all of the church members a challenge to read the Book of Mormon by the end of the year. I accepted that challenge. As I completed my reading I received a witness from the Holy Ghost that that book, the Book of Mormon, was written by ancient prophets of God,that they saw what they saw. Since that time I've known that this church had to be true, regardless of what any of my friends or family might say.

How I live my faith

I'm currently serving the Lord by serving a mission to Seoul, Korea. To that end, I'm also learning the Korean language. Before I was called on a mission I have served in the church as a teacher for children aged 8-9, a secretary to one of our local church leaders and as a home teacher. As a home teacher I went and visited other members of our church in their homes to give them lessons and help in any way necessary. As a secretary I attended regular meetings to take notes and I collected statistics to be reported to the church offices. As a teacher I taught lessons about the Old and New Testaments to the children. Children always have a wonderful spirit around them, free from the troubles which consume the attention of adults.
