Hi I'm Katherine

I am a California girl, sophomore in college, return missionary from the Aguascalientes, Mexico Mission and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have been involved in quite a few things throughout my life. I jump roped in a club for 5 years, I did basketball for about a year, I was a swimmer for 4 seasons, I gardened for 2 summers, took piano lessons for 3 years. In high school I took dance, choir, photography, drama and ceramics. I love to hike, attempt to cook, watch movies, and just simply talk with people. Currently, I am attending college and where I am hoping to get a masters in Social Work.

Why I am a Mormon

I spent all my life in the church, but I consider myself a convert. Why? Because I studied and questioned the church for myself. I did not take anyone else's word for it but I found out for myself. I have heard both pro and anti mormon information, and I tested it out for myself with a neutral mind, not to prove its fault or its correctness but with curiosity. Do you know what I found? Joy and more importantly love. Though many think our beliefs and choice of lifestyle to be crazy (and in accordance to the rest of the world we kind of are) the joy and love that I have experienced from this Church and its teachings surpasses anything and everything the world has to offer. This is way I have decided to participate in this website, to share with others something that has filled by life with joy. I do wish to keep this brief but I would like to end by saying this: To those who are reading this who are simply curious to learn about what Mormons believe I would love to answer any and all questions and I hope that as you learn about things about this faith that you are able to keep a neutral mind, because as Abraham Lincoln said “If you look for the bad...expecting to find it, you surely will” and it works just as well the other way. To the others of you that are considering to becoming part of this faith, the Church requires your time, faith, personal sacrifices, and hard work while many are criticizing, mocking, and attacking you for your beliefs, but I promise you that as you actively do all that you can you WILL find strength, peace, joy, and love from Heavenly Father and the Savior. This Church helps us realize that we are and can become so much more than we think we can.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing exactly that, LIVING it. I do not just believe these things to be true and call it good. I am constantly trying to following the teachings and guidance that the Lord has given us, His children, to show Him my gratitude for all the wonderful things He has done for me.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

The Atonement of Jesus Christ is so great and powerful that no one, besides the Godhead themselves, can quite comprehend. It includes when Christ suffered every sin in the Garden of Gethsemane, when He was murdered on the cross, and when He resurrected on the third day. We do know that He did this so that through His Gospel, we could overcome the spiritual and physical death that become a part of reality after the fall of Adam and Eve. We all can be cleansed and return to the presence of our Heavenly Father through Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost and Enduring to the End.
