Hi I'm Art

I grew up in Ogden, Utah, USA. I currently live in Chubbuck, Idaho. My family owns a roller skating rink. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was a swimmer in high school. I loved the water! My greatest hobby now is my family. I love spending time with my wife and children. We have so much fun together. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ which gives me the promise that I can be with them forever -- even beyond the grave of this earth-life. I graduated from college and have done graduate work. Right now, I work in my family's business -- a roller skating rink. I love meeting people. Young people have so much promise! I hope that I can be a positive influence on them by the way I treat them. It breaks my heart that the world is in so much trouble. I can't change the world, but I can have influence on those around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the peace and the assurance that the things that I have learned are true. I know that Jesus is the Christ, that He lives and that because He live, I can live again. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that Joseph Smith was God's prophet to restore plain and precious truths to the earth again. I know that Thomas S. Monson is currently a prophet of God. Because I feel that these truths have been revealed to me, I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in a leadership role in my local church. All leaders in my church are lay leaders...we don't get paid and we are not "professional" clergy. I have an opportunity to associate with young children, youth and adults as well. I also serve as a "Home Teacher". A home teacher regularly visits assigned families to ascertain their needs and to give help where possible. All of this represents the visual aspects of how i live my faith. My faith is very much more than this. It is how I interact with others, how I feel in my heart. It is about my relationship with my God, my Father in Heaven. This is the true measure of how I live my faith. Through prayer, scripture study and constant repentance, I am able to draw closer to my Father through the gift of Jesus Christ's Atonement.
