Hi I'm Karen

I'm a teacher, a wife, and a smiler.

About Me

I am the oldest daughter in a family of 3 girls and 1 boy, and grew up just outside London. My husband is my rock. I teach, I love it but is not always the easiest job in the world. In my class I have a number of children who speak English as a 2nd language and a few with physical and learning disabilities, it's amazing to watch everyday how the other children in the class help these groups of children without being asked, they constantly show me Christ like love, I feel blessed to be taught those lessons by them and it feels at times like they teach me more than I teach them. I love to travel, I have real 'itchy feet' as they say. I've also passed the travel bug onto my husband, in the 2 years we've been together we've visited 4 different countries. Here's to many more!

Why I am a Mormon

I've been raised a mormon however I live my life the way I do out of choice, not purely because my parents brought me up that way. Life is about finding out things for yourself and that is what I did with the gospel. I was 16 when I decided I had to really know for myself so I started to pray and read the scriptures. As I studied the Book of Mormon daily I felt God's love for me, through its pages I felt encouragement, motivation and hope, I knew it was true, that no man could have written it, that it is the word of God. It never fails to uplift me. Essentially I live the gospel because it makes me happy and who doesn't enjoy being happy? Life isn't easy and some days are really hard but I try to keep a positive attitude because I know that everything will work out, maybe not how I would want it to but heavenly father has a greater vision than mine. I try to be my the best me I can be and Christ helps me make up the rest. My true treasures in life are my testimony of my saviour Jesus Christ and his gospel, my husband, those closest to me.

How I live my faith

I try my hardest to be a good example of how a latter day saint lives their live. I share the gospel with those I work with, I encourage my husband and family- especially my sister and brother in law who are out serving full time missions. I serve on the young women's presidency in my ward and I love being with the girls (12-18 year olds), they are so strong and dedicated, they inspire me through the way they live their lives in the world today, if they can do it with all the pressures of being a teenager in today's world I can definitely do it too! Just doing what I know to be right and having the holy ghost as my guide.
