Hi I'm Daniel

Foodie. Physical Therapy student. The favorite Uncle. Loves an adventure. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of six kids from the Pacific North West. I graduated from Brigham Young University in Dietetics. I love sports and recreation, especially basketball, tennis, and snowsports. Going to Physical Therapy School in South Carolina. I am a foodie of all kinds and can't turn down cookies and milk ever. I was raised Mormon from birth and served a 2 year mission in Florida.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was raised as a Mormon, I made a conscience decision to be baptized as a Mormon at 8 years old. Since then I have had moments asking myself why I joined this church, is there anything better out there, why do I still feel beholden to staying Mormon now that I am living on my own away from family? I have had bad and good things happen in my life. I was born in a country with freedoms guaranteed to me that others do not have, but I was born into a home where divorce would occur. I have always had good health, but suffered a bad accident where I broke a hip, a vertebrae, some ribs, and tore some tendons. Lived much of my childhood without a Father, though there were quality father figures in my life. I have been turned down from schools and worked hard to be accepted by others. Like many I have tried to get a job through the recent economic troubles of America. Through all these moments there has been one constant. A knowledge born of faith that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me. I specifically remember a time when I was at a low point from something as trivial as a basketball game where I didn't play how I would have liked. I was depressed and unhappy. I read the Book of Mormon all night and felt a reassuring peace like never before. I felt my Heavenly Fathers love for me in that silly moment of un-importance by the worlds standards, but that he understood my individual trial and unhappiness. While he does not shield me from pain or sadness that can occur I know that he cares for me and all others. I know this because of the words he has given me found in the Bible and Book of Mormon. Words about his Son Jesus Christ who came to save my soul, along with all others. And that I can continue to feel his love for me by continuing to learn about his Son Jesus Christ through the restored gospel in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

Every week I attend church services where I partake of the sacrament. When I am not sitting in the audience listening to talks or sermons, I have been asked to teach classes to other church members, give short sermons, plan and prepare activities, schedule meetings for people to talk to the local Bishop (church authority) and or help others with their assigned duties. My last assignment in church was to help the full time missionaries in teaching, contacting, and helping others in the Seattle Washington area.
