Hi I'm Erinn

I'm a west coast Canadian. I love being outdoors. I love learning new things. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love being outside. Hiking, swimming, kayaking are some of my favorite things to do. I love to draw portraits of the people in my life. To me there is something said if you can capture the emotion of a moment in a face. I love to read, when I was a young child my dad and I would read Harry Potter together. When I got older we would fight over the books when they came out. I love getting to know new people and learn from their life experiences. When I was 17 I went on a youth exchange to eastern Europe and have fallen in love with the culture and people there. I speak 3 languages. I am the middle of 5 kids and have 4 brothers. People always feel sorry for me but it was the best growing up with my brothers. I love my family and friends. I'm about to start college towards getting a degree in psychiatric nursing and then I'm going to go to further school to get involved in the research for mental illness. I have always wanted a career where I could help people and constantly be learning new things and I am so excited to start school. I have not lived in the same place for more than a year since I was 17.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Mormon. When I was a teenager I decided it wasn't for me and went my seperate way. After 3 years of heartbreaks, hard times and extreme anxiety I decided to pray. That was the only thing I changed in my life. For one week I prayed to God. That week was the first week in a long time I didn't constantly feel anxious. I felt at peace even though everything around me was still a crazy mess. I couldn't understand it, how could one act of praying to some being change my life that much. That's when I knew that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true and that God is my loving Heavenly Father. That is why I live His gospel to this day because it brings peace in a crazy terrifying world it brings us peace. That choice has not always made life easy but it has been worth it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the example of Jesus Christ. His life was all about serving others and as I have served in His church I have been able to walk as He walked. I have been able to teach young children in Sunday School and trust me they can be a handful sometimes but it has been truly rewarding. I am looking forward to having a career where all I do is to serve others and help them be better able to cope with their mental illnesses. As part of following Christ's example I do as he taught. I go to church every Sunday, read the scriptures and pray to my Father in Heaven. I also am kind to everyone I met, whether or not they believe what I believe I treat them as I know Jesus Christ would treat them. I have very few friends who believe as I believe and for me living my faith includes loving them and being an example to them.
