Hi I'm Jaden

I've grown up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I like to wakeboard on the weekends. I speak Russian. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have played drums for 10 years. I was even in a band for a little while and managed to get a song onto iTunes. I go boating with my family almost every weekend. I absolutely love to wakeboard and wake surf, but I have found that paddle boarding may take over, at least for a little while. I took many AP and CE classes in high school, and graduated with a nearly completed Associate's Degree, minus about 6 credit hours. I am an Eagle Scout. I have worked for my mom for the past few years while attending school. My parents are divorced and remarried. My dad and step mom don't go to church at all, my mom and step dad attend LDS meetings. I liked the feeling I had when I went to church with my mom and step dad, so I continued to go. I am currently serving in the Ukraine Kyiv Mission, speaking Russian.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the way I feel when I go to church on Sunday. I've been to many different churches throughout my life, and none of them make me feel the peace and happiness I feel when I attend my LDS meetings. I also love being part of a community that is so willing to help out when they are needed.

How I live my faith

I loved helping out on all the service and welfare projects that my congregation does together. I used to assist the bishop in organizing and teaching the 16-18 year old boys. I am a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Serving a mission has also really strengthened my testimony of just how awesome the gospel of Jesus Christ is. I preach it to people every single day. There are so many times when I read my scriptures, and find myself thinking "Man, the gospel is just so cool." I am so happy that I am able to share my faith with other people and help them come closer to Christ.

What is the First Vision?

The First Vision was simply an answer to a young boy's prayer. Young Joseph Smith went into a grove of trees after being bombarded by leaders from all different kinds of churches and having no clue which to join. He had read in the New Testament the scripture James 1:5, which says "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." After he had said his prayer, he saw two people coming down in a pillar of light. They identified themselves as Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. They told him not to join any of the churches, because none of them were following His doctrine. That was the beginning of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

We don't worship Joseph Smith. We believe in the Ten Commandments, so we only worship one God, our Eternal Father. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God that received revelation to better teach the people and restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ in its entirety. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

It's pretty fun. We have all kinds of social activities for all different age groups, so we all have a lot of awesome opportunities to meet new people. A lot of people may think that our lifestyle hinders us, but in reality, it frees us from despair. I have many friends and family members that lack the same happiness I receive from following the commandments that God has given to us. These family members and friends suffer from addiction, heartache because of infidelity, and guilt that they don't even realize that they have because they have had it for so long. Show more Show less
