Hi I'm Debbie

I grew up in CA. I live in Nevada with my husband and 5 (soon 6!) children. We own a karate school. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My main occupation at the moment is that of wife and mother. I have 5 young children and we are expecting number 6. I home school them all, which has been a fabulous pleasure. But boy is life busy! I love teaching. Before having a family, I enjoyed teaching physics at a couple of colleges. Now I get to teach my own kids--what fun! Our family owns a karate school which is simply a blast! I recently earned my black belt, as did my oldest daughter! It took me 14 years! I enjoy my life. I enjoy snuggling my little ones. I enjoy the rare moments of quiet, and dates with my hubby. Life is crazy and wonderful. Someday, I will have time for other hobbies, but I wouldn't trade this for anything!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have received a personal witness that the gospel of Jesus Christ is real and true. I have studied the Book of Mormon and cannot deny its truth and beauty and power. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. I cannot imagine a day of my life without the knowledge of His love and concern for me. I need Him in my life. I am a Mormon because I want to be with my family forever. I want to be a wife to my husband forever. This life is so short. There is so much more to follow. I love God's plan for me and my family. I am a Mormon because it brings me joy to learn about my relationship with God. To know that with Him, I can do anything. With Him, I can have joy through all the trials I face. I am a Mormon because I want my children to have the blessings of the gospel of Jesus Christ in their lives.

How I live my faith

Church every week brings a welcomed peace and stability to my life. I love to refill my personal stores with the light of Christ, and with perspective on why I do what I do. Periodically, I get to teach the women's lessons, which is very rewarding. As busy as I am with little ones, it is so wonderful to see their little faces light up as they tell me what they learned each Sunday, and as they prepare for important events in their lives, such as getting baptized. Wherever we go, I try to show others the happiness and peace I feel, despite the chaos which is constantly around me.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost is a member of the Godhead, along with Jesus and Heavenly Father. He is called the Holy Ghost because he does not have a physical body. He has a special mission to testify of truth, to comfort us, and to witness to us personally of the divinity of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
