Hi I'm Christopher Black

Im a proud country boy, my favorite color is camo, I love huntin' and fishin', and Im a Mormon.

About Me

I’m from the beautiful state of Georgia and I the country. Before my mission I was always outdoors. Huntin', Fishin', and Campin' are all things that make me who I am. I love gettin dirty in the mud wither it’s in a truck or just playing football. I love shooting skeet, country music and motorcycles. My family means the world to me and I’m so blessed to have them in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the LDS chruch and was baptized when I was 8. I would attend church as often as my family would go and I soon was reaching the age at which young men prepare to serve a full time mission. While growing up I was at times curious about other faiths and I wasnt going to serve a mission based off my parents testimony. I decided to post pone serving a mission and see what the world had to offer. I soon realized that religion was very confising and often scary. I always felt there was something different about the Mormon church but struggled figuring it out. I didnt stop believing in the church but my participation slowly decreased to the point where I not longer attended. During that time I really experienced how temporary things in the world are, and how strong of an influence the adversary has on others. I realized that the joy and happiness I desired was never being fulfilled to the extent that I truly wanted. In time and through a series of events I soon realized that there was more to life than what I was experiencing. I decided that instead of searching out other churches I needed to search out the church I grew up in. I knew that through the struggles and difficulties I saw in my family that there was something that kept them together. It wasnt until I decided to pick up the book of Mormon and read it for myself that I discovered the truth it contained. Im a mormon not because I grew up going, but because I found out for myself. I know through experience that no matter what we go through we can be healed throught the atonement of Jesus Christ. I also know through experience that all it takes is us being humble enough to read, ponder, and pray to discover these truths out for ourselves. Ive now found that true happiness in my life and im so grateful to have this opportunity to now serve as a missionary to help other experience the joy that the is available. This gospel has not only changed my life for the good but its made me a better person. .

How I live my faith

I’m currently living my faith by serving a full time mission in the California Los Angeles mission. Here I’m able to give others the opportunity to feel the true joy and peace that I have felt through living the gospel of Jesus Christ. Being Mormon isn’t just a weekend attendance it’s a life style. I’m grateful to now be living my life in harmony with my Savior Jesus Christ and his teachings. I enjoy reading from scriptures daily because it not only starts my day off in the right mood, but allows me to better confront the temptations of the world.
