Hi I'm Derrick Trotman

I'm African-American. I've got Colorado Pride. I love life. I'm currently serving as a missionary in Pittsburgh, PA.

About Me

My parents are divorced and my mom re-married and joined the LDS church when I was young. I graduated high school and am currently serving a mission for the LDS church. I will be going to BYU for bussiness and law when I return home. I love to play soccer, basketball and golf. I love to eat food, I mean who doesn't?! I love to experience and interact with cultures from all around the world!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to be happy and live the best life I can. I have found that His gospel has given me that happiness. My step-brother passed away when I was 12 yrs-old and I didn't know what to do. As my parents turned to the Lord, I did not. I was lost, scared and unhappy. So I prayed and asked my Father to help me. He comforted me and gave me a way to deal with losing my brother. He gave me His gospel and word. He gave me happiness. I know that His plan of salvation is real. I know that He wants us to be happy and see our families again once they have passed on. I love my Father in Heaven and am grateful for His love and comfort.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving in Pennsylvania on a mission. I love service and it is a major way that I connect with my Father in Heaven. I am very open with my beliefs and love to share with those that want the happiness I have in my life. By serving others I live my faith and add to my witness of charity; charity being the pure love of Christ. My faith in Christ has lifted me up and given me opportunities to serve others.

What do Mormons believe about “eternal life?”

Derrick Trotman
We believe that families can live together forever and there is no "till death do us part". Jesus Christ came into this world to atone for our sins and make eternal life possible for everyone. As we choose to follow His example, our Father in Heaven will prepare for us "many mansions" (John 14:2) in Heaven. We can and will live with our Heavenly Father again. Show more Show less
