Hi I'm Todd

I was born in Moab. I love my wife and my four children. I perform civil engineering and land surveying. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love to spend time with my family. We have great fun swimming together; we love playing in the water. I enjoy skiing (water, downhill, and cross country). I also enjoy mountain biking. Land surveying and civil engineering work is rewarding to me. I like taking measurements, notes, and ideas and being a part of turning those things into something that solves a problem and benefits people. I enjoy reading (non-fiction) and learning new things.

Why I am a Mormon

As a person who was raised in a Mormon family, I was taught the gospel from an early age. I also made an effort to keep God's commandments which helped me to gain a testimony of God and His word (John 7:17). At the age of 19, I was a strong believer of God and His Son Jesus Christ, however I did not know with such strong conviction whether the Mormon Church was correct. I remember feeling that I really needed to know whether the Mormon Church was true - if so, I would be a committed member, if not then I would need to find out what I should do. I prayed with a sincere heart and real intent late one particular night; I prayed much longer and more sincerely than I normally prayed. I told God my circumstances; I asked questions about the truthfulness of the gospel and the Mormon Church. I gave my commitment to follow His guidance. During this prayer, God sent His Spirit that I felt in my heart and gave undeniable understanding to my mind. The Spirit instilled a comforting yet piercing testimony into my soul of the reality of God, his only begotten Son Jesus Christ, and that Joseph Smith was a prophet chosen by God who translated the Book of Mormon by the gift and power of God and restored the Church that Christ had originally established. I believe that God sent the Comforter (Holy Ghost) to me because I had sincerely prayed to God and committed to act according to His guidance. I remain committed to the testimony which I have received. This way, my testimony remains strong and my understanding of the gospel deepens. I continually feel like I am drawing nearer to God, and that He is drawing nearer to me. I appreciate my parents so much for teaching me the gospel and how to keep Gods commandments.

How I live my faith

I have spent 11 years as a leader of young men. I care about them and want the young men to be successful and grow into highly capable people. I appreciate the scouting program and the way that the outdoors and scouting activities draws the young men into an atmosphere where the aims of scouting can be accomplished: growing in moral strength and character, practicing citizenship, and developing physical/mental/emotional fitness. I live very near two widows. I love being able to help them with painting, raking leaves, or whatever else I notice. I have recently accepted an invitation to serve as the Ward Mission Leader. It is all about helping people draw close to the Lord out of love for them. I help the ward leaders to set and accomplish goals in relation to the Lord's work of salvation in missionary efforts, helping visitors and new converts to feel accepted and welcomed by the church members, and inviting those who are not active members to become more involved. I love the Savior Jesus Christ. He has provided the great and wonderful gifts of redemption and forgiveness. By repenting of my sins, remembering the great love that the Lord has shown to me, and being forgiving of others, I feel of His love for me and know that I receive forgiveness.
