Hi I'm Helen

I love to birdwatch and hike. I am an avid quilter. I have lived in Utah, Texas, Missouri and Arizona. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am mom to 5 amazing children, and wife to my best friend of 30 years. My family is my greatest passion, but as the years have passed I have stayed busy with other odd jobs. I have worked at: teaching fourth and fifth grade, teaching English to international college students, organizing and managing an after-school program for jr. high students, serving on our local school board, managing youth soccer and girls softball programs, worked as a mutual fund advisor for Fidelity Investments. Presently, I am busy with my other passion which is quilting. I make and create original quilt patterns. My sister and I work together to be original in our quilting designs which are modern and contemporary in color and design. Throughout all this business I have always loved to serve others at church and in my community. I believe true joy comes through serving others!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the teachings of Jesus Christ bring great happiness and joy to my life. The teachings of Christ have always led me to make good decisions and to be a good person and to love others. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has the organization and authority to baptize and perform sacred ordinances in the temple which bring us as families to live with God. I know God lives, Jesus is our redeemer and the Holy Ghost influences my life for good.

How I live my faith

I currently have the privilege of working with the young women in our church. I enjoy listening to their hopes and joys and frustrations and happy moments. I love to share with them the life skills I have learned over the years. I know it is important to have a broad base of knowledge to draw upon. It is important to know how to read, clean, work, play, serve, research, manage money, be honest, have integrity, have hobbies that give variety and interest to life, and most of all how to have faith in Jesus Christ. I have learned to follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost. When a thought comes into my mind, I no longer dismiss it as a random thought, I act on it and follow through with it. It is always about serving someone: a phone call to my Dad or Mom, a check on my kids, or an act of kindness.
