Hi I'm Alexandra

I'm a movie-buff, Mormon, missionary!

About Me

I was born in England, spent my childhood in Saudi Arabia, and my teen years in Ireland. I studied English and Mathematics at University College Dublin, took an MA in Drama & Theatre Studies at NUI Galway, and then qualified as a teacher of Mathematics at Oxford University. I love movies and TV shows, as well as creative writing. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 24 and was the only member in my family until my mother was baptised two years later. At the moment, I am serving as a full-time missionary in the Birmingham, England mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I feel like I have been searching my whole life for truth, and for home. Joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints helped me to understand that search. When I met with missionaries for the first time what they told me resonated with truth. I felt like I already knew everything they were telling me, I just didn't know I knew it. I prayed to God and felt the still, small voice of the Holy Spirit telling me that I should be baptised. The reason I remain active in the Church is because I have come to understand my relationship with God so much better, I have peace and security in my life because I know that I am doing the things Jesus Christ wants me to do, and because it has brought lasting happiness into my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day in small ways such as prayer and scripture study. I attend church every Sunday for worship and to attend Sunday School. I try to be helpful to the people around me in any way I can.
