Hi I'm Andrew

I love culture, nature, family, England, and life. I`m a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an eighteen-year-old young man who is serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love hiking, science, learning, memorizing poetry, running, traveling, and spending time with my nineteen lovely nieces and nephews. I suffer from a genetic condition known as Xeroderma Pigmentosum which is one reason I have so many freckles. This condition prevents my body from effectively synthesizing the enzymes that check DNA in the skin for damage and error. I have had many, many skin cancers removed and must put on a safari-hat, sunglasses, and powerful sunblock each morning before I go out. This has proved, in many ways, to be a blessing as I have learned to branch out and have aquired many areas of interest I would not have otherwise. I like to believe that it has also taught me empathy and charity toward other people and their trials. One of my great loves is that of the natural world. Ever since I was a child, I loved to roam the foothills of Utah. As I grew older, I set my sights to the mountains. I love biology and learning about God's creations that make life so beautiful and worth living.

Why I am a Mormon

It is true that I have been a member of the Church for my entire (relatively short) life. However, I, like anyone else, had to gain a testimony of its truthfulness and divinity. I have had beathtaking spiritual experiences that have certainly strengthened my faith. But looking back on it, the slow, steady progression of my testimony has a lot to do with small, steady events that don't always seem like very much at the time they happen. The restored gospel of Jesus Christ has imbued my daily life with great joy and bright hope for over eighteen years, now. It has allowed me to repent of my sins (no matter how large or small) that would have plagued my soul and stopped my progression forever, had I not been able to be washed clean by Jesus Christ's atonement. Of this I truly witness and am eternally grateful.

How I live my faith

Right now I am a full-time missionary for the Church, soon to be procelyting in Norway. Previous to this I served as a teacher of sunbeams (young children), and had various callings in the Aaronic Priesthood before that.
