Hi I'm Jennifer WIndland

I'm a mom. I work. I love football games. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom with two kids. I work alot and spend most of my extra time with my kids activities. If I had free time I would practice the piano and cross stitch. I also love to spend time outside and garden.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and just always went. It was what my friends and family did. When I was in my early 20's life got hard and I stopped going to church. I wanted to make life simpler and thought it would be easier to not go to church. After a couple of years I started going to church again for a few months and then stopped. After I stopped going the second time I decided that I wouldn't go back. I felt it was important that my kids go to church somewhere and learn about Christ but I didn't think it mattered where they went. I went to the local non-denominational church a couple of times and ended up attending a Catholic church for a couple of years. After some time I started feeling something was missing in my life. I thought about going back to the Mormon church but never acted on it. The closest church was 1/2 hour away and it would require sacrifice for me to attend regularly with my kids and some lifestyle changes. One weekend I was visiting my boyfriend's family several hours away who were not members. His mom wanted to drive the hour to Nauvoo to visit the temple grounds that had just been built to look at the flowers. I agreed to go with her and when we went up the hill and around the corner the temple was suddenly there and I knew that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints of the true church and that was what was missing in my life. I have been an active member ever since. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true and Joseph Smith is a prophet. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, atoned for our sins so that we can return to live with our Heavenly Father if we choose to follow his commandments. He visited the American Continent after he was resurrected which is written in the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is true and companion scripture to the Holy Bible. They both testify of Christ. I still have challenges in life but by living the gospel life isn't as overwhelming as it once was.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life as the Savior would on a daily basis. When I am at work I try to treat other fairly and be an example. I talk about my kids and differnet activities that they are doing even if it is church related. I also volunteer at church to help with the 12-18 year old young women. I teach lessons on Sunday and help out with Sunday activities. I am also an assistant camp director for the summer girls camp in our area. I love working with the youth. They are wonderful girls that uplift me and give me hope.
