Hi I'm Brynn

I grew up moving all around the world. I have a Master's degree in Family Science. I am a Mom. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love to spend time with my husband and kids. I always wanted to be a stay-at-home mom, and I am so grateful to be able to follow this dream. There are plenty of challenges, but I love being there with my kids every day, through all the ups and downs in their lives. We have had the blessing of bringing children into our family in 2 ways--we have a biological child and a child who was adopted. We hope to adopt again soon. I love to read. I am interested in nutrition and healthy eating. I like to camp and hike. I love to travel. Our family recently moved to Hong Kong. We moved here as a result of a lot of prayer--we moved here because we feel like this is where we're supposed to be. When we made the decision, none of us had ever been here before. But we felt guided, and we are excited for the new adventure!

Why I am a Mormon

Being Mormon brings me peace and joy. With all my heart, I believe the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to be true. I have lived the teachings of the Church, and as I have, my faith and belief has become stronger. I know that God knows me personally. He cares about me. And I know he loves and cares for each of His children. I know He cares about what happens in our lives, and He wants us to be happy. That doesn't mean life will be easy or always go as we want it. God knows a better way. The challenges and struggles we face help us become stronger. The Savior also faced challenges while He was on the earth. I know that I can pray to my Heavenly Father and receive guidance and direction in my life. As I have prayed for direction, I have received answers--either through a strong feeling of peace letting me know a certain path is a good one, or an unsettled feeling helping me to know that a path is not the one I should pursue. Or I have had new thoughts and ideas come into my heart when praying that I knew were answers to my prayers. I know that anyone who has faith and prays to God really seeking an answer can receive an answer. Living the principles of the Mormon Church brings happiness and peace into my life. It gives me and my family purpose and direction. I am a Mormon because I believe the Mormon Church is God's true Church. With the peace I feel from living the gospel of Jesus Christ, no matter what challenges I face, life is good.

How I live my faith

My faith is who I am. Where I live is a result of my faith. The way I teach and raise my children is a result of my faith. Every day I pray--first thing in the morning, right before I go to bed, and throughout the day. I attend church every Sunday. I look for opportunities to help others. At church over the years I have had callings (volunteer assignments) working with children, teaching teenagers (including at a youth detention center), teaching adults, speaking to the whole congregation, helping other church members obtain food storage set aside for a rainy day, etc. I try to follow the example of my Savior, Jesus Christ every day in the way I live my life.
