Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a gal who loves to cook. I spin flags with my college color guard. I love to sing, dance, and read. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college girl working towards a major in Actuarial Science. When I'm not studying, I spin flags as a color guard girl in my college marching band. I love dancing and learning new choreography. When I'm not in school, I love to visit my family and cook for them. I love trying new foods and experiencing different flavors. Some of my favorite things to cook are rice pudding and spinach quiche. Music is my passion, I love listening to new music and singing along with the radio. I also love to read - I prefer fiction but I'm also trying to read more classics. Ray Bradbury is one of my favorite short story authors.

Why I am a Mormon

This gospel makes me so happy. I believe that it is true and I have seen the blessings that I have gained from being a member of this church. As I follow the teachings of this gospel, I am more able to testify of its truthfulness. I am thankful for the relationship I have with my Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ. I don't think I would have the same relationship with Him if I didn't have his gospel. Through reading my scriptures and going to church, I understand that my Heavenly Father has a plan for me, and that He loves me. I can feel His peace and comfort and I know that he knows me and what I am going through. I can feel his love for me, and that love encourages me to do what he asks me to do.

How I live my faith

Since I moved out of my house to go to college, I've had the opportunity to participate in several church callings. In my first ward away from home, my calling was to get people excited about doing family history work. It was fun to be able to teach people how to get involved with family history, and to help serve other people by doing family search indexing. In my ward last semester, I found ample ways to live my faith by doing my visiting teaching. I had wonderful partners who always had great insights, and I really loved visiting with the sisters I was teaching, and also the sisters teaching me.
