Hi I'm Blake Mullenix

I love to laugh and I always have a joke to tell. Music and friends is a common combination in my life. And I am a Mormon

About Me

I have been a Mormon all my life but I never knew what that was or what it was supposed to mean. Before I was active in the religion, I was a normal teenager. I played sports, skateboarded, tried to sort out the confusing world of girls and preferred the company of my friends over my family(that clearly didn't understand me). I even played in a band. But like most teenagers, I was at a loss of what was really important in life. God blessed me with some wonderful friends that helped shape my life and find a direction that I would be happy seeing my life go. They helped me from anything from schooling to religion. They helped me find the truths that are in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. These truths shaped my life in ways that I can not explain. They taught me the values of family, service out of love, hard work and the joy that life could have in store. My faith led me to want to act on these truths and help all that I could find the same joy that I was searching for. God's calling to serve a mission rang true in my heart and I knew that it was exactly what I wanted to do. I still enjoy the hobbies of my teenaged years, and the joy that I get from them is compounded by the knowledge that I have a Father in heaven that was willing to send his son to us to pay for my sins and to lead the way.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have had the chance to act on the words that Christ gave to us and to "do his will"(John 7:17) Through the Lord's divine mercy, I know that this gospel is true because it is is His gospel. I have felt that through much study and prayer. I couldn't expect such important knowledge to be just given to me, I had to show that I was going to act upon it. And as I acted upon the confirmation that God gave me, it was reaffirmed in my heart and my mind. And it still is reaffirmed with every positive step that I take.

How I live my faith

I go out every day and share the restored gospel with Heavenly Fathers children. As a missionary I get the opportunity to meet thousands of people and help them with anything that they need. But my most important duty as a representative of Jesus Christ is to invite others to come unto him. I love my mission and I love our Lord. Of course that also means trying my best everyday to live the principals that I teach. I try to be like Christ in all that I do.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Blake Mullenix
We believe that families can be together forever. That means that they are something that need to be cherished if we want them to last forever. The family is the most important social unit ever created because of the amount of good they can do for every member of a family. In a family is where we lean and grow with those that love us. If our families need improvement, we can help them improve through living the principals of Jesus Christ. He gave us the road map to a successful and happy family and has asked us to follow it. How does the Church finance its operations?

Blake Mullenix
It is no secret that the LDS Church has enough funds to build the beautiful white temples that dot the earth, or else they wouldn't be there. What is wonderful about the funds that are used to build meeting houses, temples and even fund disaster relief around the world is that members of the church contribute it. The reason that these funds are donated is the law of the tithe. Just as in biblical times, tithing is one tenth of the money that we earn. That seams like a huge sacrifice, but when we look at what tithing goes towards, it is no wonder that members of the church are so willing to give. They are part of many things, like the construction of sacred temples that stand as holy edifices to all of the earth or the aid of those suffering from the devastation of their homes and communities. Above all, it is a commandment that the Lord has given. As we follow with faith, God bestows the blessings from heaven that he has in store for us as when mend our wills to his. Show more Show less
