Hi I'm Heather

I'm from Louisiana. I love sports, playing guitar, and being outside. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest in my family, with only one older brother. I grew up in Louisiana for the most part, but I lived in New Mexico for a few years. I spent most of my childhood playing sports with neighborhood friends and going to the lake near my house. I played soccer and threw javelin in high school. I am currently a student at a university in Utah working on my Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science. I am, however, taking a break from my studies to serve a mission in Mexico City. In my free time I love to be active. While living in Utah I loved exploring, hiking, snowboarding, and playing intramural sports at my university. I also love to play guitar and jam with friends. Also I love to travel whenever I get the chance.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that this church is the restored church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I know where I came from, why I am here, and where I am going. I know I am not alone in this world and that my Heavenly Father is always there to help me. Without this gospel I would be lost and confused. I know I am happy and at peace when I keep the commandments of God and strive to serve Him.

How I live my faith

I have held a few callings so far. I have been in charge of the music we sing our meetings. I have supervised our visiting teaching program where the women in our church go and visit others on a monthly basis to teach them and make sure they are doing well. I have been in charge of putting together a group of people in my ward so that we can teach each other and get to know one another every Monday night. Most recently I have decided to take time off from my studies to serve a mission for 18 months where I will be teaching others about the gospel.
