Hi I'm Allison

I grew up in Arizona. I'm a writer, musician, and artist. I am a student of life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a daughter, and a sister. I went to college for creative writing and served a very personalized mission in Florida. My favorite thing in the world is to find the beauty in life that other people overlook, or that I overlooked once and can learn to appreciate. I try any way I can to share those gifts from God with others, and I enjoy music, sculpture, painting, fashion, jewelry, books, history, science, and my list is continually expanding!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that the Gospel of Christ will help me to live the happiest and fullest life I can experience. There are many churches that share good things about God, and many true things, but this is the only Church where I can pray to God about the doctrine and feel 100% confirmation through the Spirit of God. When truths are hard to hear, it doesn't mean they're not true. It just means that we're not comfortable living it yet. And there were many of those times when I had to realize it was me, not the doctrine, that wasn't solid. It's a challenge for me to know, fully and completely, that God demands perfection. It's not a challenge to believe that His Son died for me. What is the ultimate challenge of life for me is not just knowing that Christ can help me change, but allowing Him to do His part. He's a fashioner of souls... It's a powerful and painful thing to put my imperfections at His feet. I know that He is there, that He leads this church Himself through revelation to us and the Prophets who have always been called to lead the world. He helps us lead our lives, but He uses Prophets to warn the world. I love this Gospel. I know it's true.

How I live my faith

Since returning from my mission, I'm thrilled to become a dedicated member of my congregation. As a young person, I'm in a ward with people around my own age, and that gives me the opportunity to meet many different people. Everyone needs a friend! That's where I know I can serve. I've been called to teach the women in the ward once a month, and I'm thrilled to have that chance. Teachers tend to learn more than the students, and I'll learn a lot. I'm a member of the choir and enjoy doing special musical numbers when I'm invited.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Allison
I know I love the Bible, and I know that without it we wouldn't be blessed with essential knowledge about God. He ensured we would have these sacred texts to guide and teach us here on earth, and to point us to Christ as our Savior. God laid the foundation for faith in the Bible, and He continues to lead and guide us the same way. Show more Show less
