Hi I'm Beverly

I grew up in New Hampshire, became an RN and married and raised 10 children. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I became mom to 7 daughters and 3 sons, 9 whom are living. Loved life as a mother and an RN. -- I have always felt so blessed to do the things I love best -- being a wife and mother and nursing! Now enjoying 33 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Love to read, knit, sew, and be around grandchildren, and being with my husband of 52 years.

Why I am a Mormon

I was at a cocktail party while attending college in Boston,Mass. when my brother in law pulled a Book of Mormon off the bookshelf and told us some missionaries had left it the past week; he told a few things he had learned about the Mormons, including eternal marriage, but then stated they don't smoke or drink--I held up my cocktail and cigarette and said "They won't get me then" and forgot about them. Two years later I was ready to graduate, studing Catholicism because I was engaged to a young Catholic man when I received a letter from my sister now at Fort Lewis, Washington, asking me to get away to think about my changing religions. She then said "Besides, there's a handsome young officer we would like you to meet. She described him and ended with "the only thing wrong is he's a Mormon!" This reminded me of the feeling I had originally when I saw that Book of Mormon, that it was true. That evening I broke my engagement, six weeks later I was on my way to Fort Lewis, and the rest is history! I have been married to that young man for 52 wonderful years!

How I live my faith

I tie quilts for babies in our area, also teach a class in our church's womens group each month, also visit 3 women each month to share thoughts, and try to help them in any way, often take meals to those who are sick or with new babies. Served a mission in Ukraine for 18 months with my husband, and are preparing now to serve another mission in South Africa. I love life!
