Hi I'm Stetler

I'm a Texan, born and raised. I'm an engineering student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am first and foremost a Texan. I was born and raised here, and this is where I hang my hat. I have been called to serve as a Missionary in the Cambodia Phnom Penh mission, where I will be serving for two years. I am a lover of cultures and gaining knowledge in any way that I can. I am a second year student at Brigham Young University, studying engineering and enjoying the friends that I have made. I grew up on sports and music, playing soccer outside of school while marching in my high school marching band and drum line. I've participated in Boy Scouts, earning the rank of Eagle Scout. In the past I've done all kinds of work, usually by means of break-back labor. My passion is waterskiing. If I could, I would live on the water. I love old school stuff, and one of those is the dying art of slalom skiing. I find it exhilarating, and I sacrifice sleeping in during the summer months for a chance to catch the perfect water. I am a laser tag enthusiast and I went weekly before my mission. Now, I am on my way to a beautiful and far off land where I can serve. I would give all to serve my Lord, and I am doing so now.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon. That was my introduction to the church. I choose to remain in the church because of the truths it holds. I have attended other congregations, and I have researched many other religions. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints contains the full gospel of Jesus Christ, restored exactly the way it was when Christ ministered on the Earth. There is a living Prophet who loves us and receives revelation on a daily basis to guide the world in these dark and troublesome times. I am a Mormon because I need help navigating this world that is losing its morals. Heavenly Father promises that if I follow the Prophet, and if I follow Christ's teachings, then I can be with my family forever, and that is all that I want.

How I live my faith

I have always believed that the best way to show someone you love them is to emulate them and serve them. Daily, I seek to become more like my Savior Jesus Christ and do as He would. In addition to that, I seek to serve others every chance that I get. When you are in the service of others, you are in the service of God. I am grateful for the opportunity I have now to serve as a Missionary. As a missionary, I have given up my life for two years, and I couldn't be happier. My service is no sacrifice, but a blessing, and I know that Heavenly Father will support me in my service for Him.
