Hi I'm Matt

I'm a photographer, outdoor enthusiast, and lacrosse coach. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be outdoors. I love to hike, camp, boat, and backpack. I also love photography. I've bounced around to a few different schools but am currently attending a community college, and am hoping to become a professional photographer. It has provided me with a wholesome way to express myself and unwind. I love some principles that photography teaches such as seeing things from different perspectives, being able to have adventures, try new things, and being open and receptive to others and not passing judgments on people. I also love coaching lacrosse. I played in high school and a little bit in college, but I've had just as much if not more of a rewarding experience coaching the high school kids. I hope I've helped them be successful not only in lacrosse, but in life. I've been able to coach all of my brothers in their high school program, which has been a great blessing for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that God lives, and that this is His Gospel. As a youth, I never felt a super close connection to God until I was around 14. I remember praying one night to my Heavenly Father asking for help during a hard time. I remember having an overwhelming feeling that God was there, and that He loves me. As my relationship with Him has grown, I have been able to see the hand of God in my life, and to feel of His love and presence. I am so grateful to have this knowledge. Through different trials I have had in my life, it has given me an opportunity to grow closer to God and gain a deeper relationship with him.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by being kind and loving to everyone I meet. I love to meet new people and help them become happier. One thing that I hope to see is more civility and love between God's children. I think the main thing though is just having love for God's children and being able to comfort those that need comfort. I love studying the word of God in the scriptures and in conference talks, and have come to rely heavily on those messages. I have a calling in my church which allows me to plan speakers for church events in my ward that will come and speak about the gospel and how it can improve our lives.
