Hi I'm Julie

I'm a school librarian. I'm a wife, mother, and grandmother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in rural Iowa, and I've been fortunate enough to live in several different states including Florida. By the time I met my husband--at age 35--I had earned a degree in English, had joined the Church and served a mission in Hawaii, and was making a living teaching English and public speaking in a junior high school. Our family includes two sons and two daughters who are now teenagers and young adults. Did I forget to mention my two beautiful grandchildren? At age 49 I went back to college, earning a master's degree in educational media. Nowadays I have my dream job as a school librarian! My school here in the South has only 120 children, and I know all their names!

Why I am a Mormon

I believe in Jesus Christ! I believe that He has authorized servants on this earth. My quest for Christ's true church centered around finding a church claiming to have priesthood authority from the Savior himself. When I began studying the Church in my teenage years, the doctrines rang true! I found out for myself of the truthfulness of the Gospel and then I chose to be baptized at age 20. Doing so has led me to countless opportunities to grow as an individual, give service, and have a happy and fulfilling family life.

How I live my faith

Currently I serve the women of the Church. My stewardship focuses on the Sunday lessons taught during the women's meeting. I travel to any number of 14 congregations assigned to attend and strengthen the leaders and teachers. I also have a special assignment to watch over two women in my own congregation. We've become friends as they invite me into their homes to hear their concerns and present a spiritual message.
