Hi I'm Ethan

I'm an older brother. I ski and play the piano. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Idaho, but I grew up throughout the United States. By living in different places, I've been able to experience diverse flares of the American culture and even tastes of totally different cultures. My favorite thing to do is snow ski. I also like to play tennis, wakeboard, rock climb, and go mountain biking. In high school, I studied classical piano and I love to play for people whenever I can. My four younger brothers and my parents are my best friends. We do so many fun things together. Right now I'm serving as a missionary in the France Lyon Mission. It is a blessing to share the Gospel with such a great people and in a beautiful country. When I get back, I will attend Brigham Young University.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a very logical mind. I like clear, straightforward answers and proofs. This has caused my faith to waver in the past because there are not objective, tangible proofs that there is a God or that the church is true. Though as I have more fully studied the Gospel and observed the world around me, I have come to a knowledge that certain things are true. There is a God. I can see Him in the beautiful world that He has created. I can see Him in the kindness in the world. I can see Him in my family. God knows each of us individually and loves us perfectly. He wants us to be truly happy. He has provided us an opportunity to learn and become stronger in an imperfect world by making mistakes and feeling sorrow. To overcome all injustice and all of our shortcomings, He has provided a Savior for the world. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Christ lived a perfect life full of service to be an example to us. He paid the ultimate price for our mistakes by atoning for our sins. Through this profound gift of love, each of us is able to repent and inherit all of God's glory. The family is central to God's plan. I love my family more than anything else in this world. We laugh together, we fight together, we cry together, we love together. God has provided a way for our family to remain united throughout eternity. This is the glory of God -- to be genuinely happy with the people we love. I know these things are true. I cannot prove them scientifically, but the way I feel when I comprehend the beauty of life confirms that this is the truth. Christ's Church exists today. The Book of Mormon is a testament of Jesus Christ and can help us live a better life. There is a living prophet, Thomas S. Monson, who can guide us through this often confusing and tumultuous world. Most importantly, we can become truly happy by following Jesus Christ. I testify these things are true, and pray that you also will come to know these comforting truths.

How I live my faith

I am deeply dedicated to my religion. Because of my musical background, I have served as a pianist for my ward's choir and played the organ in our weekly meetings. As a youth, I participated in the leadership of my group of young men, planning activities and finding ways to strengthen my group members. Perhaps the greatest example of how I live my faith is dedicating two years of my life to helping my fellow man come unto Christ by serving as a missionary. My religion is definitely not a Sunday-only one. In addition to these outward manifestations, my faith in Jesus Christ strengthens my soul and influences my decisions. Because I trust Him, I follow the commandments He has given so I can truly be happy.
