Hi I'm Troy

I am a helicopter pilot and I am a mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and a dad who loves to work and play. Sports of any kind interest me. I love to hike and camp. As a helicopter pilot, work is hardly thought of as work. I love flying and being able to support my family doing it. When I am home with family, I enjoy making everyone laugh and throwing a ball around with my son.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I can't deny the feelings I have from God that this is His church on the earth led my Him. Even though I grew up in a active mormon family, I had to decide if it was the life I wanted to commit to. The teachings I learned in the home and at church helped me live a life close to my Savior. I feel my years as a youth were relatively easy because of the beliefs I chose to follow. Trying to learn for myself that the things the mormon church teaches are true took time and effort, but before I graduated from high school I knew in my mind and my heart that all of the churches teachings were true- even if I couldn't always understand or explain my beliefs in detail. I have always followed the basic things that invite the spirit into my life and that spirit is now an undenyable feeling from God that I am living my life the way he wants me to live. My assurance of this comes largely from my testimony of the Book of Mormon. I studied that book and asked God if it were a true testiment of Jesus Christ. In my faithful and sincere prayer, I felt a peace from God that I had never felt so strong before in my life. I have come to recognize that feeling as a feeling from God given to me by the Holy Ghost. Because I know the Book of Mormon is a book from God, I know that the process by which it was published it also true. That process was the restoration of God's church on the earth through a modern day prophet named Joseph Smith. I am a mormon because I can't deny the feelings I have from God that this is His church on the earth led my Him.

How I live my faith

I try to be an example to those around me by being positive and happy. I try to uplift and support others in their ideas and actions but don't shy away from being true to what I believe and sharing that with others. I attend all of my church meetings on Sunday and currently have the opportunity to lead class discussions on gospel topics once a month. I study the Bible, Book of Mormon, and other church published books and magazines to increase my knowlegde and faith in Jesus Christ. I try to follow the example of our Savior in all that I do.
