Hi I'm Katie

I grew up in Portland, Oregon as the youngest of 6 kids. I am a Mormon!

About Me

I am a regular young adult decided the direction my life will go in.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel with all my heart. In a continually changing world, I find safety in my Savior, Jesus Christ and have faith in his plan for me. I have direction through the gospel and follow the greatest role model of all time. As I have grown, I can continually see my testimony strengthened by learning and progressing in it. I know that there is a plan for me and Heavenly Father created me for a purpose. There is often a burning in my heart when I serve others and become closer to Heavenly Father in that way. I know that he loves each of so much that he sent us to earth in order to participate in his plan and find our way back to him. I feel that I am his daughter and I do all that I can to act in that way. There are many that are lost in this world, and it is my purpose to help them feel love, to serve them, and to help them find their way back to Heavenly Father as well. He has given me everything, including the Savior who gave himself and atoned for my sins. I know that I'm eternally indebted to him for this purpose. I will make mistakes through this life, but I know that I always have the guidance and protection through the gospel, if I stay close to the Lord.

How I live my faith

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I chose to serve a mission when I didn't quite know which direction Heavenly Father would have me go in. As I studied the true answer from the scriptures, I found that the Lord needs more and more instruments to work for him. Jesus Christ lived and died for me, and I want to serve him in any way that I can. I have found that loving and serving others is the way that I find satisfaction and that is because I know my Heavenly Father is pleased with me as well.

What is the First Vision?

A young boy by the name of Joseph Smith entered a grove of trees to speak with God when he was searching for a true church to join. When he knelt down to pray, God the father and Jesus Christ appeared to him to give him instruction to not join any of the churches. Joseph recorded that their glory and light "defy all description". They explained that the true church of Christ would be restored to the earth and he would be called to be the prophet at that time in order to restore it. This first vision was the beginning of the restoration. Show more Show less
