Hi I'm Emily

I'm solar powered. I have three brothers and two nephews. I love the earth, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

A few of my favorite things about life are being out of doors, listening to little kids explain rules to games, getting to know people and discovering how they came to be who they are, seeing the moon's reflection, and the fact that national parks and museums of art exist. I would be absolutely happy if one day I got to longitudinally cross the world via bicycle, foot, hot air balloon, and sailboat. However, I am a true believer that each day can be an adventure if we so choose, so even if this doesn't ever happen, I know life will be grand anyway. I am a college student in the field of Psychology. Last semester, I had the pleasure of spending my time in Jerusalem, Israel. I got to learn many things about Judaism, Islam, and Christianity. Meeting people from all over the world in this great city was one of the greatest experiences of my life so far. Also, I think Ralph Vaughan Williams' song Fantasia on a Theme from Thomas Tallis is incredible.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because living the teachings of the church provides me with great joy! It also provides me with consistent clarity and fulfillment. The periods in my life when I have experienced less joy correlate with the times I have not been striving as diligently to live the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm a Mormon because the Book of Mormon and its teachings provide me with comfort and I'm a Mormon because I have a hope that there is more than this life and I believe that by living as I do, I am preparing for that!

How I live my faith

Currently I get to teach Sunday school at church each week. I've learned so much about communicating ideas and concepts and have learned a great deal about Christ's church while studying the Bible and Book of Mormon in preparation for each week. I've also learned a lot from those in my class. Soon I will go to Brazil(!!!!) to be a missionary and share the joy that the gospel of Jesus Christ inevitably brings!
