Hi I'm Connie

I'm a wife, Mom, Grandma, and I love to inform people about Constitutional government. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I married in the Salt Lake Temple and we are blessed with five fabulous kids. We will have three grandchildren by the end of this year (2013). I recently finished a Master's Degree in Public Policy because I would like to teach Constitutional Government at the college level. Family history/genealogy is one of my favorite things to do. I also enjoy sewing, gardening, swimming and speed walking with our awesome little dog.

Why I am a Mormon

It all started because of a goat! My family moved to a house next to some Mormons when I was 11. They raised goats and had six children who couldn't play on Sunday or Family night. The Dad was a veterinarian for our horses. When they had a goat for sale, my older married sister and her husband decided to buy it. Then the Mormons had the missionaries over for dinner, and the Mom felt inspired to refer my sister, who was already studying with missionaries from another faith. When the Mormon missionaries first arrived on her doorstep, she was a little surprised but wanted to hear what they had to say. The Mormon Dad baptized her three weeks later. Eventually, I felt the Spirit testify to me that the things she told me about the church, the Book of Mormon, modern day revelation and prophets were all true. I liked the part about Prophets because I had seen the movie "The Bible" and had questions about why God didn't talk to prophets anymore. Then I found out that He does! I began attending church when I was 15, and felt the confirmation of the Spirit at the meetings. After two and a half more years (I had to wait until I was 18) and lots of missionary lessons, her husband and I were both baptized.

How I live my faith

As much as I love Family History, I help others by teaching a class on Sundays and volunteering at the Chico Stake Family History library one night a week. It's lots of fun!
