Hi I'm Zahz HewLen

I was born and raised on the Big Island of Hawaii. I love my family and culture. I'm a Mormon

About Me

Cruising at the beach, paddle-boarding, eating, listening to some reggae, and playing a sport in the sand like rugby or volleyball. That's a pretty awesome day! The most important people in my life is my family. I love the diverse people and culture that surround me. I'm the youngest of four children who were raised in the Hawaiian and Maori cultures. I am an Eagle Scout. I play the Violin and enjoy all kinds of music. I love any kind of activities involving the outdoors with friends and family. I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and am currently serving in the North Carolina Raleigh Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born and raised in the church, I am a convert to His gospel. This is literally the church that Jesus Christ established and I know that to be true. I have chosen to follow Him and live His gospel the best I can because I know it is what he wants me to do. I have felt the power of Christ in my life and by being a member of His church I can declare my gratitude for Him and all that He has done for me. I know that it's through living the gospel that my family can be together forever! I'm a Mormon because I'm a follower of His true gospel restored to this earth by a modern-day prophet named Joseph Smith who was given the authority to act in the name of Christ. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God and that the message it contains along with the Bible provides us with the fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm so thankful to have faith in and know the answers to many of the questions of the soul people have in this life. I know Christ remains at the head of this church and it's through the living prophet today, President Thomas S Monson, that He leads this church. I've been able to witness the blessings that come to us in this life when we choose to follow Him. I am truly grateful for the knowledge of the Atonement and His sacrifice for us. I know Christ has provided the way for us to return to live with our Father in Heaven again. I'm a "Mormon" because I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I'm a Mormon because I know this church is true. I'm a Mormon because I want to return to live with Him some day. I'm a Mormon because I have felt the Holy Ghost confirm to me that this is His gospel in its fulness and is the only way to find complete happiness in this life through Him. I AM A MORMON.

How I live my faith

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints have many opportunities to participate in their communities and show others how they live their faith. A big part of the way I live my faith is by sharing my morals and beliefs with others through example. The strongest testimony is found in the way a person conducts oneself and the type of influence a person can be for their peers. Growing up my family and I took an active role in serving those who were around us. We were raised with the principle of selfless service, which became a strong foundation for the HewLen household. We spent a lot of our time together as a family serving others and looking for opportunities to help our neighbors or anyone who was in need. It has helped us grow as a family and develop the strong relationship we have today and for eternity. As members of this church we make the commitment to stand as witnesses of Christ in all times and all places to share our faith in Him. I've been fortunate enough to have this opportunity to serve the Lord as a full-time missionary. I literally carry the name of Jesus Christ where ever I go. Building a faith in Christ in everyone I come in contact with is a great way that I and many members of the church strive to live their faith. Of course we aren't a perfect people, but it's up to us to develop those Christlike attributes and follow His example. It is up to me to just be a better person each day of my life. I live my faith by striving to be the person my Heavenly Father wants me to be.
