Hi I'm Leah

I grew up in Utah. I'm a student, studying English literature and editing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently studying at a university to receive my Bachelor's degree in English, with an editing minor. I love all things literature, and spend a great deal of my time reading or writing my own works. I have 13 nieces and nephews, who I adore. My favorite "vacation" was a study abroad in the UK, where I hiked and studied literature from Edinburgh to the Isle of Wight and then back up to Wales, before ending in London. I love to be in the mountains, and frequently take long drives just to feel the fresh air and bask in the sweet spirit that comes so easily in the wilds of nature. I am leaving to serve a mission in the Eastern United States, and I couldn't be more excited!

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was born and raised in the Church, I continue to attend church and participate in the gospel because I have received my own confirmation of its truthfulness. I know that our Heavenly Father lives, and that He intimately knows each of us, His children, and loves us. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior, and that He atoned for our sins so that we might repent and be worthy to return into the Lord's presence someday. I know that He died for us, but most importantly, that He lives for us, being resurrected, so that we can also have eternal life. I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon, and of the truths that are found within its pages. I feel the spirit of the Lord when I study its teachings and witness through my reading the testimonies and sacrifices of ancient prophets. I know that our families can be together for eternity, and that death has no power to separate us for longer than a short time. We can be sealed for time and all eternity in the holy temples of the Lord. We have a living prophet on the earth today, Thomas S. Monson, who guides the church through the priesthood authority given to him by God. He and his counselors and apostles are truly called of God to lead the Church in the latter days, and I know that by following their teachings and keeping close to their words, we can be protected from the temptations and sorrows of the adversary. I love the Lord with all of my heart. He is my Father, and I hope to share the endless, over-whelming joy that I feel when I know that I am doing His will and living righteously. I know without doubt that this is the true and living gospel on the earth and I cannot deny it.

How I live my faith

I serve on a committee in the church that tends specifically to those who are in need of a little extra help. We take food to the sick, visit those in need of comfort, and try to ensure that all the members of our ward are being taken care of and know they are loved. I also play the piano for our church meetings, and I love the spirit that comes from the music of the gospel.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes! We believe that through the sacred priesthood power, and by the correct authority, families can be sealed together for all of eternity. Worthy members of the church can enter the temple, where these sacred ordinances are performed. Once a married couple or family has been sealed in the temple, they are sealed together forever, and that sealing lasts beyond the temporary separation of mortal death. These families will live together forever in the kingdom of God. Show more Show less
