Hi I'm Kirsten Escobar

I am sassy. I am sweet. I cry a lot. I laugh a lot. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a very large family that has been dysfunctional at times. I was not raised by my mother or father but by my oldest sister and her husband. My parents divorced when I was really young and after living with my mother for several years I was forced to move out of my mothers house at age 12 and because of our different views on religion and other family problems. It was not easy growing up feeling unwanted by my own mother and not having a good relationship with my father. The only thing that has allowed me to heal is the power of the atonement in my life. Through the years I have been through a lot.. including emotional abuse, neglect, being sexually abuse on several occasions. But I don't feel abandoned anymore. I don't feel alone. Because of the peace and healing of My Savior. I still have scares that may go unseen but with time they are fading and as my faith increases and I learn more I feel as if He has literally taken my burden and sorrows from me that I often forget they ever existed.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm Mormon because I have chosen to be. I was technically born into the church and baptized at age 8 but due to my family situation I had to choose if I wanted to be Mormon or not. To know for myself if this was really true. If this was of God. I made a decision that changed my life and it has brought me so much joy. There has been difficult times in my life - being Mormon doesn't make you immune to hardship- but because of this knowledge I have been able to continue. I know this church is true and that it is the gospel of Jesus Christ restored to the earth by the prophet Joseph Smith. I know he was a prophet of God. I know Jesus Christ lives and the really did die for me. He has blessed me so much and I feel so blessed to have the gospel in my life. I have read and re-read the Book of Mormon and have asked if it was really the word of God and I got my answer and I can not deny it. This is why I am Mormon because I know it's true.

How I live my faith

My faith is a big part of who I am. I have had a lot of things happen in my life that have not been easy but, because of my leaders as a youth and the things they taught me about the gospel I have been able to live a life full of happiness. I have a very personal relationship with Our Savior and know that he answers prayers. I pray all the time and I know He hears me. Honestly my faith is who I am and that's why I want to share it. The thing that has given me so much peace and so much joy. Life isn't easy but it's better because I have my faith. It anchors me when I otherwise would have been lost.
