Hi I'm Stephanie

I live in Arizona, I teach first grade and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to sing, dance and read. I definitely enjoy my career, it is very rewarding being a teacher and it will be awesome to start my second year! I'm just like any 20 something woman, I love to travel, I love to hang out with my friends, I love to go to movies, I like to go on long drives and I love to try new restaurants.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized when I was 19 and it has really been a fantastic 5 years for me! I am so happy now, I know where my happiness come from, it comes from knowing God and our Savior Jesus Christ. Before I was baptized I knew that Mormons were good people, they seemed really nice and very family oriented. Have you ever heard people say that they love God and He loves them and they can feel it? I wanted to feel that way too. I went to college met the Missionaries, they taught me, I read the Book of Mormon and I especially listened to the church hymns. It was one night I was driving with a friend of mine, we were listening to music and the hymn "I Know that My Redeemer Lives" played. I listened to that song and felt just the most amazing feeling of love when the words "...He lives, my Prophet, Priest and King..." were sung. I knew then and there that everything I had been studying, the way my friends lived their lives, what they were talking about in church, it was all true. I am a Mormon because I now understand why my Heavenly Father loves me. He loves me because I am a precious daughter of His. It's not only me He loves though, He loves us all! We are all His children and each of us are so divinely important to Him. He sent our Savior Jesus Christ to ransom man from his sins. I know this to be true with every fiber of my being and all of my heart. I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior and I know without a shadow of a doubt that They love me!

How I live my faith

Currently, I live my faith by being a leader for the Young Women in our Ward. It is so rewarding to get to know these phenomenal girls, they are so strong and steadfast in their beliefs and convictions. It's always fun to see them every Wednesday night for our activities, they invite their friends and sometimes we have a big group activity that involves all of the youth in our Ward. Teaching them on Sundays is great, the leaders teach but we also provide an opportunity for the girls to teach a lesson or two if they want. Previously I lived my faith by teaching a Gospel doctrine class when I was still in college. That was a fun opportunity to get to know people my age and to get to hear their opinions, thoughts and also a great time to hear them share their stories and experiences

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

We believe that the nature of God is love. None of this existence would be possible were it not for His perfect and divine love for us, His children. Heavenly Father (a loving name we use for God) has a perfect, immortal body of flesh and bones and His glory is indescribable. He is the father of our spirits and just like an earthly father, he is concerned for each of us. Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to find joy in this mortal life. The way we do that is by modeling our lives after the our Savior Jesus Christ. If we live our lives like our Savior did, we can live with God again. Show more Show less
