Hi I'm Hunter

I grew up in Las Vegas. I'm the only boy in my family. I'm a super nerd. I speak Finnish. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoy hunting and fishing with my family. After I return from my mission I'll be attending BYU and hopefully find something that I love to do. I am the 3rd child of 4 and I am the only boy. One day I will run a marathon or at least walk it, given my dislike for running long distances.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member all my life, however, the bulk of my testimony came as a freshmen in high school. I decided to put Moroni's challenge to the test(Book of Mormon, Moroni 10: 3-5). As I read the book of Mormon I prayed to know that the things I was reading were true. From the Spirit of God came the sure witness that the words were true. When I received this witness I knew without a doubt in my mind that this church is true, that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and that Thomas S. Monson is His living prophet today.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an active member of my community. I love participating and being an example for my friends and classmates. I will be serving a mission in Helsinki, Finland from August 2013- August 2015.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

We believe that all people are given the opportunity to receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that a just God would not damn a soul because he or she has not had the opportunity to receive the gospel while on the Earth. So we perform baptisms for the dead for souls who have not been given the chance to have the gospel. Paul taught the importance of baptisms for the dead in 1 Corinthians 15:29. Show more Show less
