Hi I'm Matt

I'm a farmer. A college kid. A musician. An ROTC cadet. And, most importantly, a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised on a farm in Declo, Idaho. Between working on the farm or in the yard, my mom and dad also taught me how to play piano and trombone and how to do well in school. Right now I attend BYU in Provo, where I'm a member of the Air Force ROTC program.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. Both my parents are lifelong Mormons. When I was younger the only reason I went to church on Sundays was because the rest of my family went. As I've gotten older, though, I've gained my own witness that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I know that God lives and loves every single one of us, no matter what. I've felt His love and His helping hand many times as he blesses me and strengthens me in hard times. It's that love and help that keep me in the Church, because without it, I'd be alone and lost.

How I live my faith

I do my best to live my faith by being kind to everyone I meet. It doesn't matter if someone is a man or woman, stranger or friend, black or white--all people are children of our Heavenly Father, and I try to love them like He does. I love to serve in church callings, like teaching lessons in Sunday School.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was the first prophet in modern history. He was called by God, just like Noah, Abraham, and Moses were, to preach His gospel and establish His Church on the earth again. He was born in 1805 in America. He saw God and Jesus Christ and translated the Book of Mormon through the power of God. Show more Show less
