Hi I'm Sarah Black

I am a student. I'm aspiring to be an elementary school teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student, and I love teaching! I am currently working towards a degree in Elementary Education. I love hiking, long boarding, photography, music, dancing, and writing. I particularly love writing letters. My family tells me I am sort of old-fashioned that way. E-mails and text messages are all fine, but nothing makes my day better than a letter from a friend. I also love photography because it is my way of keeping a journal. Sometimes my day gets so busy and I am terrible about writing things down, but with one quick click an entire memory is captured far better than I could express on paper.

Why I am a Mormon

My whole life I grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. And though I grew up in this church, as I grew older I wanted to know for myself whether or not the church was true. I began studying my scriptures and praying to know for myself the truthfulness of the gospel. I received a confirmation that it was true. Since then I have always had a firm testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And though I do not always have big events that strengthen my testimony, daily I am reminded with little blessings that the Lord loves and knows me and each of us and wants us to be happy. This is the Lord's true church. Living the gospel and keeping the commandments has brought me so much joy and peace. I know that as others come to pray and seek the Lord's guidance that He will bless their lives with an understanding, a peace, and a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. The Lord loves and knows each of us individually. I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord's Church and that this is His gospel. And that living this gospel will help me to return to my Father in Heaven again someday. This is why I am Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have always loved teaching, and very soon I will be serving a mission where I will be able to teach others about Jesus Christ and the gospel. I can not wait to meet so many new people as I serve and teach them. The gospel has brought me the greatest happiness in my life and I can not wait to share that happiness and peace with others.

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

Sarah Black
The Lord calls and chooses His prophets. As His servants they work as His mouthpiece. We as church members do not choose who the prophet will be, only the Lord can do that. Show more Show less
