Hi I'm Scot

I'm a husband, father, teacher, motorcycle rider, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a happy 53 year old who loves to spend time boating with my family and riding my motorcycle. An accident with a screwdriver as an 18 year old left me blind in one eye, but that hasn't stopped me from being active in sports and loving life. I have spent my life as a professional educator for the LDS Church, and have loved teaching. My wife and I rode 3000 miles in 10 days back through the Midwest on our motorcycles this past year and had a life changing experience. We met wonderful people, and saw amazing scenery, but have also come to realize that our main objective in life now is to spoil our 8 grandchildren. If I can successfully accomplish that I will feel at peace.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the unique perspective and peace I feel from my faith. I have developed a greater appreciation for the grace of Christ through His Atoning gift by associating with the Mormon community. I have appreciated the emphasis on the family and the encouragement to live a life of faith and service. I have also appreciated the eternal perspective relative to my faith and the knowledge I have that God is a loving Father who knows me personally, and cares about my welfare. I am a Mormon because practicing this faith has made me a better father, husband, and human being.

How I live my faith

I have had wonderful opportunities to serve in my community and my congregation. Some of those opportunities have been in leadership roles while others have been more quiet and behind the scenes. I have come to realize that there are wonderful people in the world of all faiths and serving each other, and being respectful of one another are some of the keys to happiness in this life. I have felt compelled to make the Gospel of Jesus Christ a part of my every-day life, and something that is "doable". I think we are here to have great experiences and love life, while hopefully making the world a little better place.
