Hi I'm Jacob

I love the outdoors (hiking, camping, skiing) and I have been a Mormon my whole life.

About Me

I have moved around most of my life but have lived in Washington for most of my life. The longest I have lived in one place is five and a half years. However, moving a lot has helped my family become close. My favorite time of the year is the week after July 4 because my cousins on my dad’s side of the family have a reunion. We go to Dworshak Reservoir and camp, swim, and waterski all week. I have tried many water sports including skiing, slaloming, wakeboarding, kneeboarding, and tubing. I have tried the airchair, but could never stay up. I have also participated in four 50 mile hikes. They were in the Eagle Cap Wilderness area, the Yellowstone Backwoods, around the Three Sisters, and on the Pacific Crest Trail respectively. I have received my Eagle Scout award and graduated high school in the top ten. I participated in soccer when I was young, I have also done baseball, basketball, football, swimming, track and field, and tennis. For my school senior project if made a metal Rubiks Cube. I have my mission call to Ukraine Dnepropetrovsk and afterwards I plan to study Mechanical Engineering at BYU-Provo.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been Mormon my whole life, and both my parents are Mormon. My Grandpa was inactive and my dad saw the difference between his mother's and father's lifestyles and chose to stay active. I have also been able to see the blessings that come from being a Mormon, and how living the church teachings can bring joy and happiness into your life even though it can be overwhelming at times.

How I live my faith

I have been very active in church my whole life. I spend many hours serving others along with my siblings and other church members. I have actively participated in scouting and leading my youth groups in the places that I have lived. I have completed four years of seminary (religion classes) and memorized all 100 scripture mastery scriptures. I also complete my other church responsibilities that include seeing to the needs of other members.
