Hi I'm Mackenzy Taylor

I love trying and learning new things and meeting new people. I see everyday as a new adventure and opportunity. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from Rancho Cucamonga, California and was born and raised as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love to do fun things (Who doesn't). I like to sing, dance, hike, swim, boat, and eat.... yea definitely love to eat! The older I get, the more I want to try. I used to be somewhat scared of trying new things, because it's the unknown. But I've recently learned from a teacher at BYU-I that it's from the uncomfortable moments that we grow! The uncomfortable part isn't fun, but that's how we grow. It's from the uncomfortable times, we learn more about ourselves, and others. It's just how we learn! So now, I'm trying to be fearless, not an overnight process, but a worthwhile one, I'm sure! Well, I may be pushed to fearless faster then I thought. I'm serving a mission, Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square mission to be exact! Talk about being uncomfortable, being a missionary is a whole new way of life! It's awesome! It's challenging, and it pushes you to your limits, but I love it and I wouldn't change it for anything.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up in the church, I am very familiar with a lot of the doctrine, but I believe whether or not we were raised in the church, we are all converts. We all need to individually decide why we want to be a member. I made that decision in my high school years. I loved going to young women's and making friends who made good decisions. I loved being in an environment where there could be a good spirit and also a lot of fun. I wanted to learn more about the spirit so I tried my best to learn as much as I could! I'm still learning day by day! But I do love this gospel with all my heart and grateful to have it in my life. But the reason I'm a Mormon is because the Holy Ghost has testified to me of the truthfulness of this Gospel. I've seen so many good things come from this gospel, and when I see them, I feel peaceful and happy. That's why I'm a Mormon

How I live my faith

I have had some fun callings, such as Home Evening Mom and Home Evening Coordinator. I've done fun activities with the members up at BYU-I, and I've grown up doing fun things in young women's at Home in Cali. But even though we do fun things, that's not why I attend church and choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I choose to be a member because I believe this gospel with my whole heart. I live this faith by practicing it. I go to church every Sunday and as a recently endowed member, I go the temple as often as I can. I live my faith by trying to live worthily of my Father in Heaven's blessings. His blessing are endless, and I want to live in a way where I can receive them. And something to add, I'm learning that living in this gospel and being committed, does take faith. The blessing and results of obedience aren't always immediate, and they may come in ways you didn't plan on, but having faith that the will come and the Lord knows what's best for you. That my my friends, is real faith! Having almost blind obedience and doing what is asked of you, even if you don't understand the reason behind it. I'm learning to practice my faith by being obedient to the rules and guidelines set for missionaries all of over the world.
