Hi I'm Adam

I live in Northern Idaho. I love the outdoors, my family, and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I joined the LDS church almost three years ago, and have grown to love it! I am currently serving a mission in upstate New York! It has been a wonderful experience so far. I have studied Mechanical Engineering for the last two years. It is challenging and fun and I love it. I chose this as my profession because i enjoy math and science, and furthermore i want to apply these skills to make our world a better place. I love the outdoors. I love camping, hiking, fishing, swimming, shooting, huckleberry picking, etc. As far as sports go I enjoy tennis, basketball, soccer, wrestling, and track. I don't watch many sports, but i enjoy a good game now and then. I love music. I have played the trumpet for seven years, sang second tenor in choir for two years, and I have participated in two musicals and one play. When i get a chance, I would love to learn the guitar, the piano, and possibly the banjo. I find music a great way to express myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a convert of almost three years. I have a firm testimony in the Book of Mormon. I have read through it and studied it a few times, and found much wisdom and truth each time. At the beginning and towards to end of this collection of books, we are all invited to pray and ask God weather or not the Book of Mormon truly is another Testament of Christ, and if we are to pray with a soft heart and a contrite spirit desiring to know weather or not the writings are true, the Holy Ghost will visit us and testify to the truth of the things read. I have participated in this promise and can say that i know that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith restored God's true church to the earth again. The first phase for me believing in and joining the LDS church came from my willingness to listen to and follow the directions of missionaries that happened to come into my life. After going through all the lessons, praying about what i had been taught, and taking a leap of faith; I joined the church. Since joining I have learned so much, and continue to learn about Christs gospel. I also believe that at the head of our church lives a prophet of God who directs the church as Christ wills it. I firmly believe that God is an unchanging God who speaks to us as he always has, that being through prophets. I believe that he gives revelation to worthy souls and that he has a high interest in our eternal well-being. I believe that holding the correct authority from God is extremely important, and that this is the only church that still holds Gods authority or priesthood. I love this church and all the wonderful people that i have met in the church. It is truly inspiring to see others trying their best to live the statutes and commandments of God. I am a Mormon because of the peace and order that the Lord's Gospel brings into my life.

How I live my faith

Since joining the church, and even before that I have enjoyed all that the LDS church has to offer. I find every meeting on the sabbath day to be very beneficial and uplifting. Sacrament is always a great time to renew and remember the covenants made at baptism. I am always reminded of our Lord Jesus Christ and how he atoned for our sins. The talks given afterwords are always on different topics and usually on topics that i need to hear. I have had the pleasure of serving as a ward missionary, a ward prayer coordinator, and as the secretary for our Elders quorum. As a ward missionary i was able to help the missionaries out in many ways including: being present at lessons with non-members, participating in church tours, track-ting occasionally, and helping out when needed. I have found that Ward prayer can be a great way to end the week and help bring the ward members closer together. By serving as the secretary for our Elder's quorum, i discovered just how much the members of the Elder's quorum presidency truly care about each member of the church as well as those not members yet. One thing that i have learned from serving different callings is that no matter the calling, it is important to magnify it or do your best so that you and others might be blessed. I have also taken a couple different institute classes where i studied the book of Mormon and learned about modern prophets. For those who haven't taken an institute or seminary class, they are a great way to increase your knowledge and faith in a number of different topics. I have also enjoyed home teaching, Family Home Evening, and other activities and responsibilities that are offered. They are a great way to get to know others in the church and they help build relationships with others.
