Hi I'm Lucy

I was born in Guatemala. I studying Civil Engineering. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I was born in Guatemala and I am now studying Civil Engineering at BYU. I love to run and make pizza....probably two things that don't quiet go together, but they are both great! I started running every morning when I was 11. Running makes my day better and the I found that the best ideas or inspiration have come while running. I run a half marathon every summer and hope to run a full marathon one day. I also love spending time with my family and with the distance we stay together over Skype. Living away from home has helped me appreciate my country, my culture, and the beautiful place where I come from. I love learning and doing new things and that's what life is for!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because it was in this Church that I learned my purpose in life. I learned where I come and where I can go one day if I choose to obey God's commandments and make sacred covenants with Him. This gospel has given me hope and great happiness. I have also gained a better understanding of the power of the atonement in my life. I also found that my life can be guided through Holy Ghost when I am willing to listen and follow. Above all I am a mormon because I know that through the Temple sealing my family will be together forever.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith every day doing the small and simple things. The first thing I do in the morning is reading from the scriptures. I try to make it a goal to think about what I learned during the day. Temple attendance is big for me too. I believe there's no better place for that. Service in the church and the community is another way that I live my faith. I participate in service projects as often as I can and I am part of the Society of Women in Engineering. I currently serve as a Relief Society President in my Ward I have loved the opportunity to get to know and serve all the wonderful sisters there. I believe there's an opportunity to serve someone even in a very small way every day. It can be as simple as a smile. I had the wonderful opportunity to serve as a full time missionary in Salt Lake City Temple Square. I met and taught people from all over the world, and most importantly I realized of how aware is our Heavenly Father is of each of His children.
