Hi I'm Matt Bonner

I come from a mixed family. Oregon born, Utah raised. My life would be much different without God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Matt and I am 22 years old. My wife is 25, but she wouldn't want you to know that. ;) We have been married for a couple of months now and we're loving life. I work as a pizza delivery guy and as a receptionist at a local college, where I also attend school. I love being outdoors. Outside is where I connect with my 'true self'. The world can be so noisy sometimes and it feels good to just get out and enjoy the peace and beauty that is all around me. Because of this need to find peace, trail running has become my favorite activity. Whether long or short, running the trails wherever I may be helps me to relax, unwind, and just feel good.

Why I am a Mormon

For the first seven years of my life, both of my parents were inactive LDS church members. I don't remember ever going to church as a young kid. After my parents divorce, My Mother, and my older sister and I moved around to a few different places and eventually settled in Provo, UT, where much of my Mother's family lived. We began attending church again and I decided to be baptized only shortly after my 8th birthday. I had limited contact with my Father but eventually visited him more frequently. He decided to move to Utah to be closer to my sister and I. Seeing my Father quitting bad habits he had formed in the past and regaining a testimony of God and Christ was really amazing to see. He was a wonderful example to me in my teenage years. Whenever I was faced with temptation I would think of my Father's strength in overcoming his temptations and it would help me. Both of my parents have now remarried and I am now blessed to have many more siblings from TWO families. I believe strongly that God plays a role in my life and the lives of my loved ones. He blesses us when we do what is right and come to Him for help.

How I live my faith

Christ is the supreme example of how I want to live my life. Everyday, I strive to be a positive example to those around me. I love getting to know people and I believe very strongly in the power of unity. I believe it is very important to be one in purpose with my fellow man so that we can accomplish the goals that we set out to do. God says that we should "love one another". I want to help others feel loved, and show to them that God loves them too. I love playing my guitar and singing for the elderly at a local care center. Seeing them smile makes me smile too.
