Hi I'm Jasmine

I love Swing, Ballroom, and Latin dancing. I'm an artist. I study Anthropology and Medicine. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My Ethnicity includes Native American, Hispanic, Filipino, French, German and English, which has set me apart in more ways than just when I'm filling out the ethnicity section on forms. It has given me a love and attachment to many different cultures around the world. I decided young that I would learn about my rich heritage and culture, and learn about those of others as well; I am doing that by studying Anthropology (the study of human culture) in college. I want to be a Doctor so I'm preparing to enter Medical School shortly after that. I'm taking a year and a half away from school now though in order to serve a mission. My hobbies are many, because I love to try new things. I love to dance Swing, Ballroom and Latin dances, I love to draw and paint; but I love all forms of art. I love to read and to learn. I love being active and I am always up and about doing something. I love sports and especially like to play Tennis, Volleyball, Football and Ultimate Frisbee. I love experimenting in the kitchen, because I LOVE dessert. Speaking of "deserts" I grew up in a desert! I'm NOT funny. Above all, I love my Savior and this beautiful world he created for us.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the church, and I have a family that is pretty strong in the Gospel. When my parents divorced my father stopped going to church altogether, and it really made me think about why we went to church in the first place. I wondered why bad things could happen to good people, and why my family had to be split apart when we were supposed to be a family forever. After some rough years and a lot more questions, I came to know for myself that this Gospel is true. It was through these questions I had that I began to form a testimony and a relationship with God of my own, because I was looking for something that would help me through those rough years. God was always the one that was there to help me. When I began to see His hand in my life helping me through, my love of the scriptures increased, and my prayers became more heartfelt. I now know that families can be together forever and I know that all things are made easier through faith in the lord and by doing the lords work. He helps all of his children through all their trials and he does that by giving us the gift of the Holy Ghost. I have never felt more joy, satisfaction and truth than I have in this church and with this Gospel.

How I live my faith

I am currently living my faith by serving a mission, in the Virginia Chesapeake Mission. I am proclaiming to the world that I am the Lords servant and I love his Gospel. It has blessed my life immensely, and I know it will continue to do so. Probably the biggest part of our faith is sharing our faith. I want and need my brothers and sisters to partake of the gospel, because they need it even if they don't know it. I have learned that losing yourself in the service of others is what brings complete and true happiness. I know that sharing the gospel needs to be the most important part of our lives here in these last days. I'm grateful for my mission, because it has laid a foundation for how I will live the rest of my life. But I also know that you don't have to serve a mission in order to do missionary work! Just do it!
